CV Writing

How do I write a stand out CV? We know writing a CV can seem like a big, ugly task, especially if it’s been a while. But there are lots of tips online on how to create the perfect CV to wow employers. Here are our top three:

  • Mirror. Yes, keep a generic version of your CV, but make sure that you are applying at least a few tweaks to tailor it for the role you are applying for. Mirror the specific tasks and responsibilities in the job description with your experience. This will help us know that you are the right match.
  • Stand out. Your CV should feel as unique as you are! Even if you are using a template, make sure that you demonstrate your unique blend of skills and experience. Where you can use specific examples to help your CV stand out!
  • Keep it simple. Style is great. In fact, we love a bit of flare, but don’t sacrifice substance for sparkle! Check your spelling and punctuation. Give it to someone else to check. And then double check! It happens to us all, but there is nothing worse than a tyop! And unless you are applying to be a graphic designer, it might be best to keep the layout and fonts simple – readability is key!

Application Process

You’ve written a killer CV, now what… Here’s what happens at our side:

  • Once you’ve submitted your application you will be directed to our ‘Thank you’ page – if you haven’t been taken here you may have missed a required field on your application.
  • Our team here will review your application and aim to get back to you within 2-3 days.
  • One of our lovely talent team members will give you a call for an informal chat regarding your application and to tell you a little more about the position. This is also your chance to ask any burning questions!
  • You will be invited in for an interview, this process can vary a little dependent upon the role you are applying for, so make sure you ask about next steps in your conversation with the talent team. Will there be a task to complete? Do I need an escape plan? Standard stuff…
  • You will receive a phone call to feedback on your interview, we want to know how you felt it went too! If successful you will be offered the position and your journey with us starts now!
  • If you haven’t heard from us, we sincerely apologise. Whilst we do aim to get back to all applicants within a few days, sometimes the volume of applications means this isn’t possible for our talent team (they are growing too!). We are busy working towards making this better, as every applicant really does matter to us. If you would like an update, please email us [email protected].
  • If you have been unsuccessful or haven’t heard from us you will be added to our talent pool, this means that we can let you know about all future vacancies that we think might be the right fit for you!

Interview Tips

Got an interview? Go you! Again, there are so many tips out there on how to dazzle employers, but here are just a few that we think are most important when applying to join the SpaMedica team:

  • Do your research. You’ll find plenty of information about us on our website, so make sure you have a look around. Not only will this help to ensure that we are the right company for you, but you could really impress at the interview by showing you know a little about us!
  • Be yourself. At SpaMedica we love personality, we know that it’s easier said than done when those nerves kick in, but we want to get to know you to make sure we can help you reach your future goals.
  • Questions? If you do your research, you are bound to have some questions. Don’t be afraid to ask them. In fact, don’t even think twice about asking questions. It shows that you are engaged with us. This is a two-way interview to make sure we are right for each other.
